Drift - Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki:

Monochromatic Views in a Multicultural City

In the heart of Thessaloniki, a city that embraces the past with a dress of modernity, I embarked on a compelling and intensive photographic journey that captured the essence of this Greek metropolis. Through my camera lens, I tried to capture the unique cultural nuances of Thessaloniki, where European, Oriental and North American influences dance in harmony in the streets.

Walking, or rather wandering, through this city steeped in history and innovation, I adopted photographic drift and street photography to connect to the stories that unfold daily in its streets.

With its rich heritage and contemporary vitality, Thessaloniki has offered fertile ground for limitless visual explorations.

The choice to immortalize this journey through black and white was motivated by the desire to focus on the lines, perspectives, shadows and silhouettes that define the urban landscape. In this monochromatic palette, I tried to capture the city's depth, letting the shape and composition tell the many stories Thessaloniki has to offer.

Thessaloniki, a crossroads of cultures and history, has opened the doors to a stimulating and rewarding photographic experience. Each shot was a journey through this fascinating city's social, architectural and human fabric. The streets spoke with the language of shadows, intertwining lines and silhouettes that faded into the light.

In this photographic work, I share my visual journey through the streets of Thessaloniki.
